Duties
- Design and develop responsive, engaging websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Bootstrap and React.
- Implement interaction design principles to enhance user engagement and usability.
- Utilise content management systems like WordPress, Drupal, or SharePoint for website maintenance and updates.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Figma, Adobe XD, and InVision to visualise concepts before development.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to optimise website functionality and user experience (UX).
- Perform SEO optimisation to improve search engine rankings and visibility.
- Maintain website performance through regular updates, bug fixes, and optimisation techniques including AJAX, SCSS, Less (style sheet language), and VHDL.
- Develop custom features using PHP, Python, Node.js, Redux, SQL/MySQL databases for enhanced website functionality.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to produce compelling visual content using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Acrobat, and Creative Suite tools.
- Analyse web traffic data via Google Analytics to inform design improvements and content strategies.
- Ensure all websites are compliant with accessibility standards and follow best practices in information architecture and usability.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in web design principles including UI/UX design and responsive web development.
- Extensive experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including AJAX), Bootstrap, React, Angular, Node.js.
- Knowledge of back-end programming languages such as PHP and Python for server-side development.
- Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint; experience with website maintenance is essential.
- Proficiency in design software: Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects; experience with wireframing tools such as Balsamiq or Figma.
- Experience with usability testing methods and user research techniques to enhance user experience.
- Skills in data analysis using Google Analytics; understanding of SEO best practices for optimisation purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple projects efficiently.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git; familiarity with SCSS/Less for stylesheet management; understanding of SQL databases is advantageous.
