Job Summary

We are seeking an innovative and talented Web Designer to join our creative team. This role is responsible for designing engaging, user-friendly websites that align with brand identity and business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in digital design, interaction design, and front-end development, emphasizing usability, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive web design.

The Web Designer will collaborate closely with developers, marketers, and content creators to produce visually compelling digital experiences that maximize engagement and conversions.

Duties

  • Develop and implement visually appealing website layouts using established wireframing and layout design principles.
  • Create high-quality graphic elements, including logos, icons, and motion graphics, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Design responsive websites optimized for various devices and screen sizes using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript frameworks like Angular and React.
  • Enhance user experience (UX) through usability testing, user research, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards (WCAG) to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
  • Maintain and update existing websites using content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or SharePoint.
  • Collaborate on information architecture and interaction design to optimize site navigation and usability.
  • Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility in search engine results.
  • Conduct website maintenance, including troubleshooting, content updates, and performance optimization using tools like Google Analytics 360 and Adobe Analytics.
  • Utilize wireframing tools (Balsamiq or Axure) to develop prototypes for new features or redesigns.
  • Work with back-end developers, integrating front-end designs seamlessly with server-side functionality using technologies like PHP, Python, SQL/MySQL, Node.js, Redux, AJAX, and SCSS/SASS/LESS stylesheets.
  • Participate in user research activities to gather insights that inform the design process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in digital design, web development, or UI/UX design.
  • Proficiency in visual design and prototyping tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Sketch, InVision, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS/SASS), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), Bootstrap, and CMS platforms like WordPress.
  • Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and usability best practices.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and web analytics tools (Google Analytics 360 or Adobe Analytics).
  • Knowledge of motion graphics creation using Adobe After Effects or Adobe Animate is a plus.
  • Ability to perform user research and translate insights into effective design solutions.
  • Understanding of information architecture and responsive web design techniques.
  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git is preferred.
  • Knowledge of server-side languages such as PHP or Python is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A portfolio demonstrating previous web design projects showcasing creativity and technical skills is required.
