We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Volunteer Web Developer to contribute to our organization’s digital presence. Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain organizational websites using front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, SCSS, and responsive web design principles.
- Collaborate on the design and wireframing of new features or pages to ensure optimal user experience (UX) and interface (UI).
- Implement dynamic functionalities using frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js or similar tools.
- Manage back-end integrations with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, or other web services using technologies like Node.js, Django, ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails.
- Maintain databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or SQL Server; perform data visualization tasks with tools like D3.js or Chart.js.
- Utilize version control systems such as Git or SVN for code management; participate in code reviews and collaborative development workflows using platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
- Automate deployment processes employing Jenkins, Ansible, Docker containers or cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
- Ensure websites are optimized for SEO and perform optimally across various devices and browsers.
- Contribute to the organization’s SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), adhering to best practices in testing (unit testing), security standards and documentation.
- Engage in continuous learning about emerging web technologies and industry trends to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in front-end development with proficiency in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including frameworks like React or Angular), AJAX, TypeScript and Bootstrap.
- Strong knowledge of back-end development using languages such as Python (Django), PHP (WordPress/Drupal), C# (.NET), Ruby on Rails or Node.js.
- Familiarity with database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Microsoft SQL Server; capable of designing efficient data schemas.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Knowledge of web services protocols including RESTful APIs and SOAP; experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Understanding of DevOps practices including Docker containerization and cloud deployment on AWS or Azure platforms.
- Ability to create wireframes and prototypes for web design projects; understanding of UX/UI principles to enhance user engagement.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable working independently within a team environment.
