Tray | Senior Data Engineer | Remote E-commerce Platform

Join the technology team responsible for the evolution and sustenance of the Tray e-commerce platform, focusing on performance, quality, and security across the purchase flow, virtual store management, and integrations.

We are seeking a technically mature professional with a systemic view of software engineering, deep expertise in data modeling (SQL and NoSQL), and experience in high-scale environments, focusing on resolving integration bottlenecks and achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

Daily tasks include:

• Architecting and constructing data pipelines.
• Consolidating heterogeneous data sources into a centralized repository.
• Ensuring secure, governed, and low-latency data flow to support strategic decisions.

Specific responsibilities:

• Build ingestion and ETL/ELT processes to centralize data from various scopes (Store, Purchase Flow, Backoffice, and Integrations).
• Model and structure the Data Lake, ensuring logical and performant connections between information from different services.
• Collaborate with product teams to map events and guarantee data integrity at the source.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced domain in relational databases, specifically MySQL and PostgreSQL (including tuning, modeling, and extraction).
• Knowledge of messaging systems and distributed queues, such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, for large-scale event processing.
• Experience with distributed processing (e.g., Spark) and relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficiency in programming languages (PHP desirable).
• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Engineer in E-commerce or FinTech environments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Cloud or Data Engineering Certifications.
