Tracking Implementation Engineer
We are seeking a technically minded Tracking Implementation Engineer to ensure flawless operation of every funnel, pixel, and experiment across our brands. You will own GTM and pixel implementation, monitor data accuracy across ad platforms like Meta, TikTok, Google, and Blotout, deploy A/B tests, and maintain automations for error detection. Support for the CRO team includes light PHP or JS changes and Shopify integrations, with no front-end design work required. This role is ideal for a technical marketer or CRO engineer who values precision, reliability, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Tracking & Implementation
- Deploy and maintain pixels across Meta, TikTok, Google, and Blotout.
- Manage GTM containers, event triggers, and data layers.
- QA and validate event firing across landing pages and checkouts.
- Troubleshoot discrepancies between analytics and ad platforms.
- Automate alerts for key tracking events that stop firing or break.
- Experimentation & CRO
- Implement and QA A/B tests on PHP, HTML, or JS landing pages.
- Validate experiment setup, conversion tracking, and split logic.
- Collaborate with CRO analysts for clean data and fast rollouts.
- Light Shopify & Integration Work
- Update product and catalog IDs, install and configure apps, manage metafields.
- Handle basic Liquid or script edits for tracking accuracy.
- Integrate Shopify data flows with analytics and tracking tools.
- Monitoring & Reliability
- Create uptime and pixel health checks using scripts or monitoring tools like UptimeRobot and Pingdom.
- Set up notifications for errors or downtime impacting conversion tracking.
- Support performance optimization through caching or CDN configurations.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of technical experience in marketing, tracking, or CRO roles.
- Hands-on experience with GTM, GA4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Blotout.
- Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Shopify familiarity for data accuracy and app integration.
- Experience with A/B testing platforms such as Google Optimize, VWO, or custom frameworks.
- Git/GitHub experience preferred for version control.
- Strong QA mindset, detail-oriented, and proactive communicator.
KPIs
- Pixel accuracy rate (% of verified events firing).
- Time-to-deploy or fix tracking issues.
- Split test deployment speed and QA pass rate.
- Uptime % across funnels.
- Reduction in tracking or attribution errors.
