Technical SEO & Web Developer (UX-Focused)

Full-Time | Remote | EST Hours (8:30 AM – 5 PM)
Pay Rate: US$ 6-8 per hour

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical SEO and Web Developer focused on UX to manage the on-site performance, user experience, technical SEO, and local search visibility for multiple service-based brands.

This role requires a professional who excels as both a builder and an optimizer. You must be capable of taking a page from brief through wireframe, polished build, speed optimization, SEO readiness, and conversion readiness. Crucially, you must understand how local intent, Google Business Profiles, and proximity-based rankings drive revenue for service businesses.

You will collaborate closely with the Marketing Director (strategy & positioning) and the Graphic Designer (visual assets). This position demands strong ownership, technical judgment, and the ability to lead execution independently.

Responsibilities

Website Development & UX

  • Build and optimize website pages and landing pages using WordPress + Elementor.
  • Own layout, spacing, hierarchy, accessibility basics, and UX best practices.
  • Implement mobile-first design, breakpoints, sticky headers, form UX, and clean navigation.
  • Maintain clean, lightweight builds (minimal plugins, clean snippets where needed).

Technical SEO (On-Site)

  • Ensure pages are indexable, structured, and free of technical SEO errors.
  • Handle redirects, canonicals, sitemap updates, crawl hygiene, URL mapping, and indexing requests.
  • Implement schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Review, etc.) via RankMath/Yoast or JSON-LD.
  • Optimize on-page elements: H-structure, metadata, alt tags, internal linking, slugs, and CTAs.

Local SEO & Google Business Profile Optimization

  • Own and optimize Google Business Profiles (GBP) for service-area and location-based businesses.
  • Manage GBP categories, services, descriptions, photos, updates, and posts.
  • Support local ranking improvements through proximity, relevance, and prominence strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze local performance using tools such as Local Falcon (or equivalent).
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director on review strategy, local content alignment, and service-area expansion.
  • Identify gaps between website pages and local search intent, and recommend fixes.

Performance Optimization

  • Improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) through image compression, script deferral, font handling, and caching.
  • Monitor performance using PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, GTMetrix (or equivalent tools).
  • Ensure fast-loading, stable, mobile-friendly page performance across brands.

Copy & Conversion Support

  • Write or refine page-level copy when needed (heroes, CTAs, service descriptions, value props).
  • Apply keyword research and semantic SEO to new page builds.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director to align messaging, positioning, and conversion strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years hands-on website development experience.
  • Expert-level WordPress + Elementor proficiency.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge (indexing, redirects, schema, Core Web Vitals).
  • Hands-on experience with Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization.
  • Experience improving mobile UX and page speed on live sites.
  • Familiarity with GA4, Google Search Console, Local Falcon (or similar).
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Availability during EST hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) for a 40 hour week (Monday-Friday).
  • Strong ownership mentality — able to run with a light brief and deliver polished results.

Preferred

  • Experience in home services, trades, or local service businesses.
  • Experience managing multiple brands simultaneously.
  • Ability to make small code edits (HTML/CSS; basic JS/PHP).

Job Type: Full-time (40 expected hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Pay Rate: R$32.00 - R$42.00 per hour
