Tech Lead Backend (PHP / Laravel)

Location: 100% remote
Form of cooperation: B2B or Employment Contract (to be agreed upon)

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and maintenance of backend applications based on PHP and Laravel.
  • Serving as the technical lead for the backend team.
  • Designing system architecture and making technology decisions.
  • Creating and developing efficient and secure API interfaces.
  • Code review and ensuring high code quality in accordance with best practices.
  • Collaboration with Frontend, QA, DevOps teams, and Product Owners.
  • Mentoring developers and supporting team competency development.
  • Optimization of application and database performance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PHP programming.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with the Laravel framework.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Tech Lead or technical team lead role.
  • Very good knowledge of:
    • PHP 8.x
    • Laravel
    • REST API
    • SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • Experience in application architecture and backend system design.
  • Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and Clean Code.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and mentoring developers.
  • Knowledge of the Git version control system.
  • Ability to work in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Docker and container environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of Redis, queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), and caching mechanisms.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of unit and integration testing (PHPUnit/Pest).
  • Knowledge of English at a level enabling work with technical documentation.
