We're looking for a Tech Lead
Requirements
Backend Development:
- PHP Expertise: 5+ years of commercial experience with PHP (7 or higher), confidently designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- Clean, Scalable Code: Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code, proficient with Git, PHPUnit, PHPStan, and CSFixer.
- Database Skills: Fluent in PostgreSQL, including schema design, performant queries, and migrations.
Frontend Development:
- React Expertise: Production experience building features in React (preferably with TypeScript), with a solid understanding of scalable, component-based frontend architecture.
- UX & Performance Awareness: Focus on performance, accessibility, and usability; comfortable translating Figma designs into clean, reusable components.
Software Engineering Principles:
- Architecture & Design: Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and structure modular, scalable systems within a product context.
- API Design: Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, owning API contracts across frontend, backend, and mobile.
- AI Tooling: Active use of AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity in coding, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Team Collaboration: Proven experience in cross-functional product teams (backend, frontend, mobile, UX/UI, QA) delivering end-to-end features.
- Mentoring & Code Quality: Actively support engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and elevating engineering standards.
- Ownership Mentality: Take initiative, seek solutions, and make architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- English Proficiency: Ability to read and write technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and communicate effectively in English with external stakeholders or clients.
Tech Leadership
As a Tech Lead, you will have hands-on experience and be able to:
- Coordinate technical efforts across product teams and with clients.
- Ensure effective delivery aligned with product and technical goals.
- Support estimation, planning, and architectural decision-making.
- Act as a technical bridge between engineering, product, and stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Flutter or mobile development.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- DevOps & CI/CD experience (Kubernetes, Docker, CI pipelines).
- Background in product-oriented, agile environments.
Responsibilities
This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy owning both code and outcomes across the full stack. You will work within a cross-functional team encompassing backend, frontend, mobile, and design to deliver high-impact, user-centric features. As a Tech Lead, you will drive the technical direction for your team, from database design to UI, and be accountable for scalability, performance, and code quality.
Your daily activities will include building and reviewing production features, leading architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Product Managers and QA to deliver reliable, well-scoped releases. You will also participate in client discovery sessions to understand needs and shape appropriate solutions.
You will work closely with the Head of Software Engineering and CTPO, report to the Engineering Manager, and play a crucial role in aligning technical decisions with product goals and client needs.
