Technical Description:

We are seeking a skilled System Architect to perform systems analysis and design, enhancing the integration, functionality, and performance of enterprise IT solutions for the Department of the Interior (DoI) Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Human Resources Systems Management Division (HRMSD). This role involves creating, modifying, and evolving DoI systems and families of systems.

The System Architect will support API design, development, and integration, including the adoption of REST, SOAP, and secure data exchange protocols. Proficiency with tools such as the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Swagger, and Postman is required, along with experience in development environments including GitHub, PHP, Java, SQL, and Lucee ColdFusion. Responsibilities also include analyzing business data processing problems to develop and implement solutions for enterprise applications and system integration challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform systems integration functions across heterogeneous platforms, including legacy and cloud-based environments.
  • Identify and mitigate system performance bottlenecks and limitations.
  • Assist with the design of enterprise systems to ensure scalability, interoperability, and secure data flow between HRMSD and external systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into system specifications and architectural solutions.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-level strategies for software, hardware, and network optimization.
  • Evaluate and recommend software and COTS solutions, ensuring compatibility with HRMSD’s technical architecture.
  • Review and enhance system workflows, including automation and data exchange processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Clearance Requirements:

Currently possesses or can obtain a Public Trust position based on a favorable National Agency Check Investigation (NAC-I)
