As a Technical Lead/Manager at AppTask Limited (Hong Kong), you will lead engineers within the Hong Kong-based Project Development Team. This team handles all aspects of client projects, including mobile applications, web applications, and backend system development. This encompasses requirement elicitation, wireframe preparation, UI/UX design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance support, user training, and system documentation. We seek individuals with strong computing knowledge, coding skills, and proven leadership ability. You will ensure critical projects and high-level production support are delivered timely and with high quality, collaborating closely with internal project managers and development team members.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Team Management

• Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments.
• Remove roadblocks for team works.
• Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Collaborate with Key project partners, Solution Analyst, and Architect on project needs and translate requirements into technical needs.
• Participate in design and architecture review alongside developers for implementing mobile applications, web applications, and backend system development.
• Lead the team to implement solutions that eliminate or minimize technical debt through a well-designed architecture, data model, and lifecycle.
• Bring together and share best-practice knowledge amongst the industry and community.
• Lead the team to work with the support team through operational issues, escalations, and resolve business partner issues in a timely manner with strong collaboration and care for business priorities.
• Collaborate with business partners and other teams to ensure data solutions are available, recover from failures, and operate healthily.

Solution Sales Support

• Support the Solution Sales team in managing customer expectations for project deliverables.
• Assist the Strategy Lead in formulating business requirements (or transferring them into technical requirements) and resolution estimation.

Team Building

• Promote empowerment of the team to build a cohesive, high-performing team.
• Ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution.
• Encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
• Use appropriate data and metrics to measure and promote team growth and maturity.
• Facilitate resolution of conflict within the team.
• Provide specific performance feedback to team members and managers.

Required Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who possess:

• Degree / High Diploma in computer science or related engineering experience.
• At least 3 years' experience in web application development.
• Experience with data storage (e.g., MySQL / SQL Server / Redis).
• Experience in leading a small software development team.
• Good understanding of PHP / React / JQuery / HTML / Node.
• Embrace open source technologies.
• Quick learner and willing to try the latest technologies.
• Self-starter who enjoys teamwork and collaboration.
