Leaseweb is currently seeking a motivated Storage Engineer to join our Cloud Storage team in Amsterdam. The Leaseweb Cloud Storage team delivers robust cloud storage solutions, including block storage, file storage, and object storage, all built on NetApp technology. We are looking for an experienced Storage Engineer to help us maintain and enhance our storage environment.

What Does the Role Entail?
As a Storage Engineer within the Cloud Storage team, you will be instrumental in handling incidents and ensuring the storage environment remains up-to-date. You will operate within a multidisciplinary DevOps team that values trust, autonomy, and full ownership of its services. Collaborating with other Storage Engineers and Software Engineers, you will manage daily operations, including hardware selection, redundancy levels, automation development, and monitoring uptime and performance. Your contributions will have a significant impact, with clear and visible results.
Your daily activities include:
- Researching new technologies and developing new products.
- Collaborating with other departments and suppliers to deliver innovative services to our customers.
- Supporting our sales team in understanding customer needs and defining optimal solutions.
- Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with our customers.
- Ensuring continuous availability of our services.
- Serving as 3rd line support, occasionally participating in on-call rotations, and resolving complex issues.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- Knowledge of storage products, preferably NetApp.
- Proficiency in protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3.
- Understanding of networking in combination with storage (VLAN, trunking).
Additional knowledge of the products we use is a plus:
- Ceph storage.
- Microsoft products (AD, DNS, and Servers).
- Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian).
Experience with automation tools/scripting is also a plus:
- PowerShell.
- Other scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash (you will collaborate with Software Engineers who develop automation in PHP).
- Chef or Ansible (we utilize Chef).
- A strong team player who contributes to a culture of trust, autonomy, and collaboration.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver excellent services to our customers.
- Good command of both written and spoken Dutch and English.

The lists above detail the technologies we use, and while finding someone who ticks every box is ideal, few individuals possess experience with everything we utilize. If managing datacenter-scale storage devices interests you but isn't fully within your current skillset, and you have some system administration experience and a willingness to learn, we are prepared to teach! For this specific position, we primarily require storage experience.
Terms of Employment:
