Leaseweb is seeking a highly motivated Storage Engineer to join our Cloud Storage team. This role is based in Amsterdam, with remote work options available across the EU. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to delivering advanced cloud storage solutions, including block storage, file storage, and object storage, primarily utilizing NetApp technology.

What is the role about?
As a Storage Engineer within the Cloud Storage team, you will provide critical support for incidents and ensure our storage infrastructure remains up-to-date. You will operate within a multidisciplinary DevOps team, fostering trust, autonomy, and full ownership of services. Collaborating with other Storage Engineers and Software Engineers, you will manage daily operations, influencing hardware selection, redundancy strategies, automation development, and monitoring for uptime and performance. Your contributions will impact the entire customer journey, with visible and significant results.
Key responsibilities:
- Research new technologies and develop innovative products.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to deliver new customer services.
- Support the sales team by understanding customer needs and defining optimal solutions.
- Cultivate sustainable, long-term customer relationships.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and availability of our services.
- Act as the 3rd level support, including on-call duties, resolving complex issues.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong knowledge of storage products, with a preference for NetApp.
- Proficiency in storage protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, and S3.
- Additional knowledge of the following products is a plus:
- Ceph storage
- Microsoft products (AD, DNS, and Servers)
- Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
- Datacenter networking
- Experience with automation tools and scripting is also a plus:
- PowerShell
- Other scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Bash (Software Engineers develop automation in PHP)
- Chef or Ansible (We use Chef)
- A strong team player who supports a culture of trust, autonomy, and collaboration.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver excellent customer services.
- Good command of written and spoken English (Dutch is an advantage).

For this specific role, we primarily require storage experience.

The annual salary for this position ranges from 58,000 Euros to 70,000 Euros (including holiday allowance), based on your experience and skills. The final offer considers the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and our established salary framework.
