Role Summary
The Solutions Architect serves as Temporal’s primary customer-facing technical leader within the Enterprise team (Central). In this role, you will directly engage with prospects and customers, providing guidance on technical evaluation, architecture, and implementation. Your expertise will help teams successfully adopt and expand their production usage of Temporal over time.
You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to support both new customer acquisition and expansion initiatives. This involves owning key technical relationships and strategically positioning Temporal against alternative technologies and architectural patterns.
What You’ll Do
- Demonstrate exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.
- Apply a deep understanding of distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices.
- Exhibit proficiency in building application prototypes and offering design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal's supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C# or PHP.
- Possess a strong grasp of operational considerations in production environments, such as security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
- Guide customers through complex architectural decisions, including application patterns and platform design.
- Partner with Account Executives and Platform Architects to develop and execute comprehensive account plans for new opportunities and expansion.
- Leverage experience with at least one major cloud provider and the application and infrastructure services commonly used in enterprise production environments.
- Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with opportunity scoping, identifying technical risks, and navigating complex evaluations.
- Travel is expected to be 25-50%.
What You’ll Bring
- Reside within the Central time zone (United States), with a strong preference for Chicago, Dallas, TX, or Minneapolis.
- Exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.

- Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance using one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C# or PHP.

- Ability to provide clear guidance on architectural topics, including application patterns and platform architectures.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with commonly used application development and production services.
- Ability to serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, helping scope opportunities, identify technical risks, and navigate complex evaluations.

Compensation Range: $168K - $220.5K
