Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of WordPress sites, collaborating with domestic and offshore development teams.
• Coordinate effectively with local and remote teams/clients.
• Perform technical planning and estimation for new projects.
• Contribute to internal development and DevOps processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Ensure the health and maintainability of the codebase.
• Integrate diverse WordPress plugins, API calls, third-party applications, and forms.
• Develop, test, and troubleshoot across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices (including tablets and smartphones) to ensure a consistent customer experience.
• Implement SEO best practices during site development.
• Research and recommend new technologies and tools for effective platform integration.

Primary Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of WordPress development, including building custom client solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of performance and security considerations in web development.
• Experience developing and modifying custom WordPress and Woo-Commerce themes and plugins.
• Expert knowledge of PHP, MYSQL, JS (jQuery), CSS, and HTML.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
• Experience with Git workflow and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of JavaScript Frameworks such as jQuery or React.
• Familiarity with WPRest API and WPCLI.
• Adherence to WordPress coding standards and VIP Coding Standards.
• Working experience with Gutenberg (e.g., creating dynamic blocks).
• Proficient English communication skills.
• Working experience with Docker and VVV.
• Experience with WordPress Multisite development.
• Experience working with high traffic websites.
• Familiarity with package management tools like NPM and Composer.
• Advanced knowledge of Javascript, including ES6 and React.
• Knowledge of WordPress Unit Testing (PHPUnit).
• Experience with WordPress core contributions.
• Knowledge of other page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi) is a plus.

Good to Have

• Remote working experience.
• Authoring WordPress Plugins/Themes published on WordPress.org.
