Join us as a Sr. Software Engineer, functioning as a technical lead and driving force behind our mission to empower nonprofits. You will shape the technical direction of our platform, working across Product, QA, and Engineering to deliver high-impact SaaS solutions. This role requires a leader who thrives in an agile environment, embraces AI-driven development, and enjoys mentoring high-performing Software Engineers.
What You Will Do
- Own the technical vision and direction for your domain, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architectural guidance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical bottlenecks, utilizing deep debugging knowledge to maintain SaaS application performance.
- Champion Agile ceremonies and workflows, ensuring iterative delivery, high velocity, and continuous improvement within the sprint cycle.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews, adhering to coding standards and providing constructive feedback to elevate team standards.
- Responsibly embed AI into the team's workflow, using AI tools to enhance development productivity, code analysis, and technical problem-solving.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering deeper technical skills, architectural thinking, and an ownership mindset.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep mastery of PHP and CSS: Strong proficiency in core backend technologies and extensive comfort working with SQL.
- Modern Frontend experience: Hands-on experience with JavaScript. Experience with React or TypeScript is highly desirable.
- Scalable systems thinking: Experience establishing and evolving code review processes and automation adaptable to team growth and increasing complexity.
- Strategic partnership: Excellence in collaborating with Product teams to design robust solutions that balance feature delivery with long-term stability and proactive technical debt management.
- Technological versatility: Proficiency across diverse frameworks, languages, and databases, with a specific focus on advancing CRM or Fundraising functionalities.
- Commitment to excellence and accountability: Modeling high standards of technical execution, continuous learning, and taking full ownership of code quality outcomes and reliability.
- AI-forward mindset: Curiosity and responsibility to explore and integrate AI tools into daily workflow to drive efficiency.

Location & Logistics
This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position (within the U.S. and select Canadian Provinces only). Employees in Indianapolis, IN are welcome to work from our company headquarters. We do not offer Visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.
