Solutions Architect (Senior Web Development & Strategy)

The Solutions Architect role at Coalition Technologies is a senior development position focused on defining, planning, and executing complex web design and development projects. You will collaborate closely with our sales, strategy, project management, design, and development teams. This role may also involve front-end or back-end development work on high-value or high-complexity projects. The Solutions Architect reports directly to the Director of Design and Development and the President.

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Educate prospects on various platform solutions (e.g., BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress) by providing consultative, best-practices approaches, including analysis and analytics to match prospect business and technical requirements.
• Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers to gather and document key requirements.
• Provide pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales staff through online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with project managers.
• Document prospective client needs and detailed project requirements.
• Act as a trusted advisor and the voice of the sales and marketing teams to prospects and partners.
• Work closely with the sales team to respond to proposals and RFPs, ensuring all technical information and recommendations address client requirements.
• Develop custom solutions to meet prospect needs, working with third-party partners or solutions where necessary.
• Help create thought leadership content, white papers, and other sales or marketing collateral highlighting agency capabilities for partners, prospects, and clients.
• Develop new processes and practices to ensure our teams operate as industry leaders.
• Stay current with the latest features, capabilities, and applications released by different platforms to provide optimal client guidance.
• Lead internal project planning and development of recurring solutions for frequent client needs (e.g., web application development for common e-commerce merchant features).
• Support design and project management teams during project discovery to anticipate UX best practices and scopes of work for future project phases.
• Provide emergency development support for key Coalition clients and major accounts.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• 4–5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior-level development position.
• Strong knowledge of core web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with various eCommerce and CMS platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
• Proven experience in solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstration skills.
• Comfort delivering consultative presentations to C-level business executives as well as engaging in detailed, in-depth discussions with technical audiences.
• Experience with commerce solutions and applications including POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways.
• Sales methodology and solution selling training is a plus.
• A charismatic, energetic, and self-starting personality.
• Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward accomplishing tasks.
• Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills with a passion for winning.

Compensation Note: Starting base pay for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $22.50 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. Compensation outside of these states may fall outside the above ranges.
