Solutions Architect

This senior development role at Coalition Technologies focuses on defining, planning, and executing complex web design and development projects. The Solutions Architect collaborates closely with sales, strategy, project management, design, and development teams. Responsibilities may also include front-end or back-end development for high-value or complex projects. This position reports directly to the Director of Design and Development and the President.

Solutions Architect Duties and Tasks:

• Educate prospects on various platform solutions (e.g., BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress, etc.) using a consultative, best practices approach, including analysis to match business and technical requirements.
• Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers to gather and document key requirements.
• Provide pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales staff by participating in online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with project managers.
• Document prospective client needs and project requirements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and the voice of the sales and marketing teams to prospects and partners.
• Work closely with the sales team to respond to proposals and RFPs, ensuring all technical information and recommendations meet client requirements.
• Collaborate with third-party partners or solutions when necessary to develop custom solutions for prospect needs.
• Help create thought leadership content, white papers, and other sales or marketing collateral highlighting agency capabilities.
• Develop new processes and practices to ensure teams operate as industry leaders.
• Stay current with the latest features, capabilities, and applications released by different platforms to provide optimal client guidance.
• Lead internal project planning and development of recurring solutions for frequent client needs (e.g., web application development for common e-commerce merchant features).
• Support design and project management teams during project discovery to anticipate UX best practices and scopes of work for future project phases.
• Provide emergency development support for key Coalition clients and major accounts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4-5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market or in a similar senior-level development position.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with different e-commerce and CMS platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
• Experienced in solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstration skills.
• Comfort with consultative presentations to C-level business executives as well as detailed, in-depth discussions with a technical audience.
• Experience with commerce solutions and applications including POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways.
• Sales methodology and solution selling training (a plus).
• A charismatic and energetic self-starting personality.
• Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward accomplishing a task.
• Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills with a passion for winning.

Compensation Note: Starting base pay for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $22.50 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. Outside of these states, compensation may fall outside the above ranges.
