SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

The Solutions Architect for Coalition Technologies is a senior development role primarily responsible for defining, planning, and executing web design and development projects. You will collaborate closely with our sales and strategy team, project managers, designers, and developers. Key responsibilities may also include front-end or back-end development work on high-value or complex projects. The Solutions Architect reports directly to the Director of Design and Development and the President.

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Educate prospects on various platform solutions (e.g., BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress) through a consultative, best practices approach, including analysis and analytics, to align with business and technical requirements.
• Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers to gather and document key requirements.
• Provide pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales team, participating in online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with project managers.
• Document prospective client needs and project requirements.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and the voice of the sales and marketing teams to prospects and partners.
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to respond to proposals and RFPs, ensuring all technical information and recommendations meet client requirements.
• Work with third-party partners or solutions as needed to develop custom solutions for prospect needs.
• Contribute to creating thought leadership content, white papers, and other sales or marketing collateral showcasing agency capabilities for partners, prospects, and clients.
• Develop new processes and practices to ensure teams operate as industry leaders.
• Stay current with the latest features, capabilities, and applications released by different platforms to provide optimal client guidance.
• Lead internal project planning and development of recurring solutions for common client needs (e.g., web application development for frequent e-commerce merchant features).
• Support design and project management teams during project discovery to anticipate UX best practices and scopes of work for future project phases.
• Provide emergency development support for key Coalition clients and major accounts.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• 4-5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior-level development position.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with various e-commerce and CMS platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
• Proven experience in solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstration.
• Comfort with consultative presentations to C-level business executives and detailed technical discussions with a technical audience.
• Experience with commerce solutions and applications including POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways.
• Sales methodology and solution selling training is a plus.
• A charismatic, energetic, and self-starting personality.
• Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups to accomplish tasks.
• Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills with a passion for success.

For California, New York, Washington, and Colorado residents, the starting base pay for this position ranges between $22.50 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and the seniority of the position offered. Outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the above ranges.
