SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

Coalition Technologies is seeking a senior Solutions Architect to define, plan, and execute web design and development projects. This role involves close collaboration with sales, strategy, project management, design, and development teams. Responsibilities may include front-end or back-end development for complex projects. The Solutions Architect reports to the Director of Design and Development and the President.

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Educate prospects on platform solutions (e.g., BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress) using a consultative, best-practices approach, including analysis and analytics.
• Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers.
• Provide pre-sales technical consulting to sales staff, participating in online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits.
• Document prospective client needs and project requirements.
• Act as a trusted advisor and the voice of sales and marketing teams to prospects and partners.
• Collaborate with the sales team on proposals and RFPs, ensuring technical information meets client requirements.
• Work with third-party partners to develop custom solutions when necessary.
• Create thought leadership content, white papers, and sales/marketing collateral.
• Develop new processes and practices to maintain industry leadership.
• Stay updated on the latest platform features, capabilities, and applications.
• Lead internal project planning and develop recurring solutions for common client needs (e.g., web application development for e-commerce merchants).
• Support design and project management teams during discovery to ensure UX best practices and scope anticipation.
• Provide emergency development support for key Coalition clients and major accounts.

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• 4-5+ years of Solutions Engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior development role.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with e-commerce and CMS platforms: BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress.
• Proficiency in solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstration.
• Comfortable presenting to C-level executives and engaging in detailed technical discussions.
• Experience with commerce solutions and applications (POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, payment gateways).
• Sales methodology and solution selling training are a plus.
• Charismatic, energetic, self-starting personality.
• Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups.
• Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills with a passion for winning.

Compensation Note: For California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay ranges between $22.50 - $35 per hour. Compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority. Pay outside these states may differ.
