About WEZZAX

WEZZAX is a technology solutions company specializing in the ecommerce sector. We are rapidly growing toward an organization built on autonomous and empowered Digital Product teams, where technology and business collaborate closely to create excellent solutions. Our multidisciplinary teams participate from start to finish in the construction and governance of our Digital Products. Our primary client, LaTiendaHome, is a leading company in the rest/sleep sector with over 20 years in ecommerce, utilizing our solutions for commercial product catalog management, logistics, distribution, and customer maintenance.

The Role: Digital Product Engineer

We are seeking a Digital Product Engineer to strengthen our technical team and drive the solutions we develop for our clients. This role requires proven experience in web application development, strong teamwork capabilities, and a broad strategic vision for solution development that supports both current operations and future growth opportunities.

You must balance attitude and experience, translating into productivity and pragmatism. You will prioritize work based on development cost, opportunity cost, and Time to Market.

What We Look For In You

  • Advanced proficiency in web application development technologies: We work with PHP (Vanilla / Laravel / Symfony), NodeJS, TypeScript, and React.
  • Experience designing and implementing distributed systems architectures. Good knowledge of Docker is essential, as our infrastructure spans bare metal and public Cloud environments.
  • High knowledge of scalability and performance for critical, 24/7 systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and empower colleagues; comfortable becoming a technical reference point.
  • A passion for complex challenges, willingness to solve problems in legacy code, and knowledge of refactoring techniques to minimize technical debt.
  • Focus on finding the simplest and most adequate solution, even if it means replacing previous work.
  • Ability to apply appropriate architectural patterns (e.g., MVC or Hexagonal Architecture) based on objective criteria, not just current trends.
  • Accustomed to working in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and applying software design patterns effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of maintaining technical and non-technical conversations with teammates, other departments, and final clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, focusing on iterative, quality delivery, and utilizing pairing when necessary.
  • Valuing teamwork and prioritizing common goals over individual achievements.

Key Functions to Perform

  • Create simple, maintainable, and efficient code, continuously improving quality.
  • Ensure developed solutions offer excellent performance and scalability to support the end customer experience across all possible clients.
  • Manage applications within a broad ecosystem that handles peak loads effortlessly, serving both internal and external clients.
  • Make strategic, data-driven decisions, arguing hypotheses with verified information, and performing Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate alternatives.
  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for Digital Product functionalities, ensuring implementations meet requirements and function correctly upon reaching Production.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and communicating effectively in both technical and non-technical contexts.

Highly Valued Experience

  • Previous experience in ecommerce environments (high-impact environments preferred).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams oriented toward a Digital Product culture.
  • Experience managing technical teams.
  • Participation in defining technological roadmaps.
