Software Engineer - PHP/Laravel

Role description

This is a remote role. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining back-end solutions, building APIs, and ensuring efficient, scalable, and secure web applications. You will implement object-oriented programming principles, optimize workflows, and resolve technical challenges to meet project requirements.

You will work directly with the founders to refine the architecture, integrate critical financial infrastructure, and prepare the system for real-world traffic. You should have excellent communication skills and should be able to present your ideas well.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and proficiency in programming, including knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development using modern tools and frameworks, with practical experience in PHP and Laravel.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to develop clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently in a remote environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with version control systems like Git and familiarity with APIs, databases, system integrations, and integrating third-party services (specifically Payment Gateways like Stripe, Razorpay, or PayPal).
• Sufficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (vanilla or Alpine.js/Vue) to implement UI changes and debug frontend issues.

Preferred (Bonus points)

• Experience in a startup environment where requirements evolve quickly.
• Basic understanding of Redis/Queue management for background jobs.
