The Federal Civilian business unit supports customers across federal, commercial, and nonprofit sectors, including NASA, the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, the Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, and the FDIC. We partner with these agencies to build new capabilities, deliver products, establish data as a strategic asset, modernize legacy systems, and build digital service infrastructure to scale their mission impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer III - Full Stack serves as an emerging individual contributor, expanding leadership, guidance, and mentoring skills. With leadership support, you will be responsible for meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements. You will interact with stakeholders and utilize influential skills to drive improvements in engineering processes and practices. Primary expectations include:
- Estimating and completing development tasks, including coding, requirements gathering, and analysis, with minimal feedback.
- Practicing technical and communication skills to improve context knowledge and mentor junior developers.
- Assessing and diagnosing issues with owned systems, prioritizing problem areas based on alignment with other practice areas.
- Participating in on-call rotations as necessary.
- Presenting and writing about work to internal and external parties.
- Participating in planning sessions, building an understanding of major architectures and design patterns.
- Supporting recruiting efforts by evaluating homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews.
- Exhibiting influential skills to drive improvements in team engineering processes and practices.
- Exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of the business, how practices interact, and customer problems being solved.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of engineering experience (Computer Science or related field), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience with Drupal development.
- Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Apache configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Progressive experience with relevant technologies, understanding roles and impact on business goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Develop and maintain Drupal websites and applications, hosted on Acquia.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write readable, efficient, and testable code.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and technologies.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Document successful solutions and usage instructions.

In support of various state and city equal pay transparency laws, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
