About the Software Engineer II Role
As a Software Engineer II, you are an experienced and independent builder capable of working across the full stack to deliver production-grade software. You will take ownership of features from ideation through deployment, playing a crucial role in maintaining the health and reliability of the systems you develop. You understand the strategic "why" behind your work, connecting technical decisions directly to customer outcomes and business value. You demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations and consistently elevate the quality of both systems and your team.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering moderately complex features and services, often navigating evolving requirements and unclear boundaries. You possess a deep understanding of how services integrate and are proficient in working across APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and front-end components. You will actively contribute to design discussions, identify opportunities for simplification, and make pragmatic choices that balance development speed with long-term sustainability. You will also support a culture of high code quality, mentorship, and operational ownership.
We expect you to leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance your productivity, particularly for repetitive, boilerplate, or testing-related tasks. You will thoughtfully incorporate these tools and be responsible for validating the accuracy and security of their output. You are fully accountable for ensuring your code is thoroughly tested and production-ready, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and manual validation. You will also help maintain the health of our pipelines, observability tooling, and engineering processes.
Furthermore, you will engage directly with product and business stakeholders, especially on features or flows impacting customer-facing tools or internal operations. You will help clarify scope, translate user needs into technical solutions, and provide insights into trade-offs and timelines. You will represent engineering in cross-functional conversations and take responsibility for delivering impactful outcomes, not just outputs.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end delivery of features or services, encompassing design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Utilize AI-based development tools to boost speed, minimize boilerplate code, and enhance development quality.
- Collaborate effectively with product, design, and business stakeholders to scope and prioritize high-impact work.
- Identify potential edge cases and failure scenarios, building resilient systems that handle them gracefully.
- Actively participate in and lead technical discussions, providing constructive feedback on design and implementation.
- Write clear, well-tested, and maintainable code, and mentor others in best practices.
- Take full responsibility for comprehensive testing of your changes across all levels (unit, integration, end-to-end, and manual).
- Monitor and maintain services in production, contributing to on-call rotations and incident response.
- Continuously improve code quality, developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering processes.
- Mentor early-career engineers and contribute to raising the team’s technical bar.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., TypeScript, Java, Python, PHP).
- Solid working knowledge of AWS; ability to independently build, deploy, and debug applications using common services, and contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and full-stack development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and DevOps best practices.
- Ability to write high-quality, testable, and well-documented code.
- Comfortable using AI development tools thoughtfully and critically.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working remotely using your own laptop/equipment (BYOD) that meets our minimum technical specifications.
What We Will Give You
- A competitive annual salary ranging from $612,000–$857,000 MXN, based on experience and impact.
- The flexibility to work fully remotely from anywhere in Mexico.
- A collaborative environment that fosters learning, innovation, and professional growth.
- Exposure to modern engineering practices, cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted development workflows.
Upon applying, our Talent Acquisition team will review your resume. If you qualify, we will reach out to learn more about your experience and answer any questions you may have about the role, benefits, compensation, and more. Due to high application volume, we may not be able to respond to everyone. Thank you for your interest! We appreciate your time and look forward to reviewing your application!
