Software Developer (Remote)

Lentech seeks an experienced Software Developer to create, maintain, and support robust solutions for SpecsIntact, a native Windows application crucial for federal facilities construction projects. This role involves approximately 50% customer technical support.

This is a fully remote position with occasional travel (up to twice annually). Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible for U.S. Department of Defense background checks and Public Trust Clearance.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate independently and within a team on agile/iterative development projects.
• Maintain existing programs by adding features and correcting issues.
• Develop effective technical solutions for complex problems.
• Produce structured, maintainable, and well-tested software.
• Review code from other developers and provide constructive feedback.
• Make informed technical decisions independently and collaboratively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, data structures, and object serialization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve complex problems.
• Experience with Visual Studio, C#, and C++ (strongly preferred).
• Proficiency in XML and HTML.
• Proficiency with GIT (preferred) or SVN version control systems.
• Ability to consistently produce efficient, clean, and resilient code.
• Ability to prioritize and work effectively both independently and with others.
• Willingness and ability to explain technical information to users of varying technical expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) experience using MVVM and XAML.
• C++ Standard Template Library proficiency.
• Excellent interface design skills.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with text processing and parsing.
• Knowledge of agile development methods.

Helpful Experience:

• Assisting remote customers verbally or in writing.
• Desktop application development, including GUI design.
• Experience configuring or using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience calling unmanaged DLLs from managed .NET applications.
• Familiarity with C, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Windows API.
