Software Developer - SpecsIntact

Lentech has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to develop, maintain, and support robust solutions for SpecsIntact, a native Windows application used for billions of dollars of federal facilities construction projects annually. Approximately half of the time will be spent assisting customers with technical support issues and questions.

This position is fully remote, with possible travel no more than twice annually. Candidates must be United States citizens and able to pass background checks for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Work independently and with a team in agile/iterative development projects.
• Maintain existing programs by adding new features, correcting problems, or both.
• Find consistently excellent technical solutions for complex problems, while understanding when good enough is good enough.
• Produce structured, maintainable, and well-tested software that performs efficiently and reliably.
• Review code for other developers and provide constructive feedback.
• Make informed technical decisions independently and in conjunction with other team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or significant work experience.
• Experience in object-oriented programming languages, data structures, and object serialization.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve complex problems.
• Experience with Visual Studio, C#, and C++ (strongly preferred).
• XML and HTML competence.
• Proficiency using GIT (preferred) or SVN version control systems.
• The ability to consistently produce efficient, clean, and resilient code.
• The ability to work and prioritize both independently and while working with others.
• The willingness and ability to explain technical information to advanced and novice application users.

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) experience using MVVM and XAML.
• C++ Standard Template Library proficiency.
• Excellent interface design skills.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Text processing and parsing experience.
• Knowledge of agile development methods.

Helpful Experience

• Experience assisting remote customers verbally or in writing.
• Desktop application development experience including GUI design.
• Experience configuring or using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience calling unmanaged DLLs from managed .NET applications.
• C, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Windows API.
