About the role
We are seeking an Intermediate Software Developer who excels in an AI-enabled development environment. Developers at Bold design and maintain the software architecture and patterns that enable AI tools to generate high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.
This role covers the full development lifecycle, from design through delivery and ongoing optimization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ship correct, maintainable, and scalable software. We seek engineers who move quickly, embrace modern tools, and are energized by a future where AI accelerates development while maintaining accountability for quality, design integrity, and outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Design, maintain, and extend software architecture and patterns to enable reliable, high-quality code generation by AI tools.
- Write selective code to manage complex logic that AI cannot fully automate.
- Review and refine both AI-generated and human-written code, ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain automated tests to validate functionality, prevent regressions, and strengthen AI-assisted development.
- Continuously improve development workflows to boost accuracy, consistency, and development velocity.
- Ensure all code adheres to secure coding practices and is optimized for long-term maintainability, readability, and performance.
- Maintain documentation, coding standards, and architectural patterns to support predictable, scalable software.
- Participate actively in stand-ups, planning sessions, code reviews, retrospectives, and release processes.
- Integrate monitoring and observability practices to guarantee reliability and performance in production environments.
What we’re looking for
- 3–5 years of professional development experience, preferably within SaaS, e-commerce, or Shopify ecosystems.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, including hands-on experience with Laravel.
- Strong proficiency in Go and its core standard library.
- Experience with front-end technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, including React or a similar modern framework.
- Deep understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, specifically integrating with Shopify’s Admin and Storefront APIs.
- Comfortable utilizing Git, modern development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
