We are looking for a Shopify Technical Lead to support the evolution of an e-commerce platform in partnership with a US-based client. This person will act as a technical reference for the solution, participating in both development and architectural definitions of the platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and technical quality.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with global stakeholders and actively contributing to the continuous evolution of the platform and user experience.

Responsibilities and duties

You will be responsible for:

• Act as a technical reference for the project and support the team in development decisions;
• Evaluate the client's existing code and implement improvements focusing on security, performance, and scalability;
• Participate in defining the solution architecture and platform integrations;
• Develop and support complex features within the Shopify ecosystem;
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and propose appropriate technical solutions;
• Support integrations with external systems, payment gateways, ERPs, and third-party services;
• Define and disseminate best practices for development, versioning, and code quality;
• Perform code reviews and technically support other developers on the team;
• Maintain code, fix bugs, and ensure application stability;
• Participate in project ceremonies and collaborate in a global and multidisciplinary environment;
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of the platform and technical decisions of the project.

Requirements and qualifications

For this position, it is important that you have:

• Solid experience in developing e-commerce platforms;
• Practical experience with Shopify and its ecosystem;
• Solid knowledge of PHP;
• Knowledge of React;
• Experience with integrations and REST/GraphQL APIs;
• Knowledge of Git;
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Tailwind;
• Experience with development best practices, performance, and security;
• Advanced English;
• Knowledge of Jira.

It will be nice if you have:

• Experience with Shopify Plus;
• Experience with BigCommerce;
• Experience with payment platforms (Adyen, Stripe, or similar);
• Experience with tax calculation and US tax rules using Avalara, Vertex, or similar;
• Experience technically leading teams or projects;
• Knowledge of application architecture and scalable integrations.
