Key Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking a talented Shopify Developer with:

• Proven experience creating custom sections from scratch and developing reusable front-end components within Shopify themes.
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Metafields, Metaobjects, and the Shopify Search & Discovery app.
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI for efficient theme development and deployment.
• Proficiency with the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API, with an understanding of both the Admin and Storefront API layers (a strong plus).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling clear discussion of ideas, technical concepts, and feedback.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of work.
• Strong overall knowledge of the Shopify platform.
• A Shopify Certification (preferred).
• Expertise in Shopify theme development and customization.
• Expert-level knowledge of Shopify Liquid templating language.
• Proficiency in working with various Shopify JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections, etc.).
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ECMAScript.
• Knowledge of SCSS (preferred).
• Expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery).
• A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• A strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.
• An understanding of W3C web standards, semantics, and accessibility guidelines.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and an organized work style.
• A positive, upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Shopify Websites Development.
• Experience with WordPress, Magento, and BigCommerce (preferred).
• Experience with Ruby (preferred).
• Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL and AJAX (preferred).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST.

Responsibilities of a Shopify Developer

• Build custom sections, blocks, and components to enhance site functionality and overall user experience.
• Optimize and extend core Shopify theme features with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Leverage the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API to implement advanced features beyond standard Liquid capabilities.
• Integrate and customize third-party apps and extensions within Shopify themes and the checkout process.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify platform updates, tools, and best practices to ensure modern and efficient development.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Take initiative in suggesting improvements, sharing feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes.
• Develop eCommerce sites on the Shopify platform.
• Develop custom Shopify themes.
• Migrate websites from other eCommerce platforms to Shopify.
• Extend Shopify’s functionalities using storefront APIs, Liquid programming, metafields, etc.
• Integrate third-party and platform-supported apps into sites.
• Set up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes within the Shopify platform.
• Ensure page speed optimization for Shopify sites.
• Implement SEO/CRO best practices in Shopify sites.
• Transform complex layout PSDs into pixel-perfect presentation-layer HTML5/CSS3 templates.
• Create responsive website designs.
• Work with version control systems such as GIT / SVN.
• Work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Produce high-quality work with a strong focus on detail.
• Thoroughly QA work prior to submission.

For candidates in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and the seniority of the position offered. Outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the above ranges.
