YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• Proven experience in creating custom sections and developing reusable front-end components for Shopify themes.
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Metafields, Metaobjects, and the Shopify Search & Discovery app.
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI for efficient theme development and deployment workflows.
• Proficiency with the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API, including understanding of both Admin and Storefront API layers (strong plus).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to articulate ideas, technical concepts, and feedback effectively.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Shopify platform.
• Shopify Certification (Preferred).
• Expertise in Shopify theme development and customization.
• Expert-level knowledge of Shopify Liquid templating language.
• Proficiency with various Shopify JS APIs (Storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections, etc.).
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ECMAScript.
• Knowledge of SCSS (Preferred).
• Expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery).
• Thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.
• Understanding of W3C web standards, semantics, and accessibility guidelines.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Shopify website development.

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Build custom Shopify sections, blocks, and components to enhance site functionality and user experience.
• Optimize and extend core Shopify theme features, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Leverage the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API for advanced feature implementation beyond standard Liquid.
• Integrate and customize third-party applications and extensions within Shopify themes and the checkout flow.
• Stay current with the latest Shopify platform updates, development tools, and best practices for modern, efficient development.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Take initiative to suggest improvements, provide feedback, and identify opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes.
• Develop high-performance eCommerce sites on the Shopify platform.
• Develop custom Shopify themes.
• Migrate websites from other eCommerce platforms to Shopify.
• Extend Shopify functionalities using Storefront APIs, Liquid programming, Metafields, and other advanced techniques.
• Integrate third-party and platform-supported applications into Shopify sites.
• Set up payment integrations, shipping methods, and tax configurations within the Shopify platform.
• Ensure page speed optimization for Shopify sites.
• Implement SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) best practices for Shopify sites.
• Transform complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates.
• Create responsive website designs.
• Work with version control systems like Git/SVN.
• Manage tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Produce high-quality work with a strong focus on detail.
• Thoroughly QA work prior to submission.

Compensation: Starting base pay for this Shopify Developer position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and position seniority. Compensation outside these states may differ.
