Custom WordPress Theme Developer / Web Developer

We are seeking an experienced web developer specializing in custom WordPress theme development. This role requires a blend of programming expertise and aesthetic sensibility. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of current industry trends and WordPress architecture. Preference is given to candidates who understand the entire web development lifecycle, including design, development, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Creating custom WordPress themes from scratch, avoiding templates.
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
• Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and translating it into a working theme and plugins.
• Maintaining and updating existing client websites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
• Experience developing responsive design websites from a PSD file.
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT.
• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
• Customer Service Skills.
• Understanding of web hosting and basic server administration.
