Web Developer, Scientific Publishing & Conferences (Remote, Canada)

Peers Alley Media is expanding its digital infrastructure and seeks a skilled Web Developer to enhance and maintain our conference websites, editorial systems, and online user experiences within the Scientific Conferences & Publishing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive websites for scientific conferences and journals.
• Implement new digital features, including landing pages, dashboards, and forms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, and editorial teams to execute digital requirements.
• Ensure high standards for website security, performance optimization, SEO compliance, and accessibility.
• Integrate essential APIs and third-party tools (e.g., payment gateways, CRM, analytics).
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, server issues, and user-experience problems efficiently.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and manage version control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional web development experience.
• Proficiency required in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress (or a similar CMS).
• Experience with MySQL, APIs, and various hosting environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SEO, UI/UX principles, and web security best practices.
• Familiarity with React, Node.js, or modern frameworks is considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
