The Role
We are looking for someone who excels at creating clever, custom WordPress builds. You should be proficient in PHP, Gutenberg, modern tooling, and dedicated to building secure, fast, and accessible sites. This role requires strong collaboration skills for working with clients, designers, and mentoring other developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Building bespoke WordPress themes and plugins that are polished, performant, and easy to maintain.
- Working with our designers to bring digital experiences to life.
- Leading technical decisions on projects.
- Helping shape our WordPress approach as we grow.
- Supporting other developers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Working on projects that are purposeful and creatively satisfying.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep experience with WordPress, PHP, and modern theme/plugin development.
- A solid grasp of HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, and build tools.
- An understanding of accessibility, performance, and best practices.
- Experience working across multiple projects (agency or similar).
- Confidence in discussing ideas with clients and colleagues.
- A collaborative, curious personality.
Bonus Points
- Headless WordPress experience
- React knowledge
- CI/CD familiarity
- An eye for UX and user-centred thinking

Compensation & Details
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 – 37.5 per week
Work Location: Remote (United Kingdom work authorization required)
