We are seeking an experienced Senior WordPress Software Developer specializing in E-Commerce Implementation and Launch execution. This critical, execution-focused role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable e-commerce solutions using WordPress, WooCommerce, and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate will drive the successful rollout of 60+ products across diverse categories, including heavy equipment, electronics, industrial goods, and home accessories.

This position requires deep expertise in custom code implementation, Stripe integration, shipping/logistics coordination, and operating effectively in a fast-moving startup environment. You will ensure products are correctly structured, checkout flows function seamlessly, and payment/shipping systems are fully operational at launch.

Key Responsibilities: E-Commerce Development & Launch

  • Lead the development and deployment of WordPress/WooCommerce e-commerce platforms.
  • Implement, structure, and publish 60+ products within the platform.
  • Develop and integrate custom code (PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) to support product logic, pricing, and checkout behavior.
  • Configure and optimize Stripe payment processing, including taxes, fees, and multi-product checkout flows.
  • Coordinate complex shipping logic and fulfillment rules (rates, zones, weight-based logic, product categories).
  • Ensure seamless integration with third-party APIs and services (REST, GraphQL, SOAP).
  • Implement APIs, webhooks, or automation tools as needed for order processing and data synchronization.
  • Design and implement responsive web designs, focusing on UI/UX optimization for maximum conversion.
  • Develop custom themes and plugins utilizing PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like Bootstrap and React.
  • Manage and optimize backend systems using databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
  • Utilize containerization (Docker) and configuration management (Ansible) for scalable deployment environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and system architecture planning to ensure high-quality, secure deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve checkout, payment, or data-sync issues prior to launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies (Trello, Jira).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Senior-level experience (5+ years preferred) with WordPress and WooCommerce.
  • Extensive experience with custom theme and plugin creation for e-commerce sites.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Proven experience integrating and optimizing Stripe into WordPress/WooCommerce.
  • Expertise in implementing custom checkout logic and product data handling.
  • Knowledge of shipping integrations, logistics rules, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Strong backend expertise in languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby on Rails; MVC framework experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with database systems: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server; ability to write optimized SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker), configuration management (Ansible), and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Experience implementing RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Web services, and SOAP.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices, responsive web design, and UX considerations for e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and deployment skills.

Preferred Qualifications
