The Role
As a Freelancer, you will assume technical responsibility for the operation, stability, and ongoing development of the platform. Your focus will clearly be on:
- Performance & Scaling
- Maintainability & Structure
- Error-free Operation & Stability
- Clean, Extensible Code
Design decisions are documented. We discuss architecture—not colors.
Required Skills & Experience
- Several years of experience with WordPress in large-scale setups.
- Ability to think in systems, data models, and architectures—not just individual pages.
- Understanding why things slow down and how to implement sustainable fixes.
- Strong comprehension of clean code and structure.
- Ability to document, work organized, and independently.
- A balanced approach: avoiding agency over-engineering while rejecting quick-and-dirty solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with very large SEO projects.
- Development of Custom Elementor Widgets.
- WP-CLI / Shell automations.
- Experience with Multisite / Content Hubs.
- Understanding of Crawl Budget & Indexing Logic.
- Experience with AI pipelines & automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for an extensive WordPress codebase.
- Architecture & structuring of CPT-based content systems.
- Building & maintaining dynamic data models and fields.
- Analyzing & resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Debugging complex plugin & Elementor edge cases.
- Developing efficient, reusable templates & modules.
- Implementing SEO-relevant structures at the technical level.
- Setting up & maintaining batch/bulk processing systems.
- Integration & support of AI-based automations.
- Implementing clean update & deployment strategies.
- Monitoring, log analysis, & error tracking.
- Collaboration with SEO & Content teams—without micromanagement.
