Your Responsibilities
You take responsibility for the stable operation, maintenance, and as error-free as possible further development of our web application kanzlei.land. Currently, a significant part of the product is still based on PHP 8.4, Go, and React - at the same time, we are shaping the consistent transition to our new technical foundation.
Together with your team, you create the conditions for a transition to our new tech stack that is as smooth as possible. The consistent transition away from the legacy system is planned within the next 12 months.
You independently design and develop complex features and systems, harmonize technical and functional requirements, and contribute to product decisions from a technical perspective. In doing so, you think beyond pure implementation and take ownership of the topics you work on.
You ensure the quality of your work through clean code, solid software architecture, automated tests, and static analysis tools. We use PHPUnit, Cypress, PHPStan, and SonarQube, among others - and continuously develop our quality standards together.
You identify technical risks, problems, and opportunities for improvement early on, actively contribute to retrospectives and cross-team processes, and support other developers through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and target-group-oriented communication.
Your Profile
You have at least five years of experience in the development of web applications and bring profound knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and relational databases - especially in the environment of MySQL / MariaDB.
Ideally, you have already gained practical experience with Go and/or React. Even more important to us, however, is that you are eager to dive deep into technologies (which may still be foreign to you) and actively shape the technological transformation of our product.
You have a good understanding of software architecture, advanced concepts of object-oriented programming, basic web concepts such as HTTP(S), as well as handling version control systems and UNIX-based operating systems.
Clean code, automated tests, careful conception, and thorough implementation are a matter of course for you. You do not just think in individual tickets, but understand technical decisions in a larger product and company context.
You are able to independently structure complex requirements technically, prioritize them sensibly, and think through them abstractly before starting the concrete implementation.
You bring a technology-agnostic mindset: You do not decide based on which technology you know best, but based on which solution makes sense for the respective problem. Programming languages are tools for you, not ideologies.
You gladly share your knowledge, support other developers, can reflect on your own limits, and actively seek help when it is necessary for a good result.
Bonus points for experience with Docker, GitLab CI, Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana, as well as agile methods, especially Scrum.
Very good German language skills are required.
