Senior Solutions Architect, Majors (West)
Temporal is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as a primary customer-facing technical leader within our Majors team (West). In this pivotal role, you will guide prospects and customers through technical evaluations, solution architecture, and implementation strategies, ensuring successful adoption and expansion of the Temporal platform in production environments. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to drive both new business acquisition and existing account growth, strategically positioning Temporal against alternative distributed system technologies and architectural patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional technical communication, including presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and detailed documentation.
- Leverage deep expertise in distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices to advise customers.
- Develop application prototypes and offer comprehensive design, development, build, and deployment guidance using Temporal's supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
- Address critical operational considerations for production environments, such as security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
- Lead customers through complex architectural decisions, including application patterns and platform design.
- Partner with Account Executives and Platform Architects to execute strategic account plans for new opportunities and expansion.
- Act as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with opportunity scoping, identifying technical risks, and navigating complex evaluations.
- Travel 25-50% as required to support customer engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Reside within the Pacific time zone (United States), with a preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle Area.
- Demonstrated exceptional technical communication skills, encompassing presenting, whiteboarding, and writing.
- Profound understanding of distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices.
- Proficiency in building application prototypes and providing design, development, build, and deployment guidance across one or more of Temporal’s supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
- Strong grasp of operational considerations in production environments, including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operations.
- Ability to provide clear guidance on complex architectural topics, including application patterns and platform architectures.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with commonly used application development and production services.
- Proven ability to serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, aiding in opportunity scoping, technical risk identification, and complex evaluation navigation.

Compensation Range: $140,000 - $183,750
