Role Summary
As a Solutions Architect on Temporal’s Majors team (West), you will serve as the primary customer-facing technical leader. This role involves guiding prospects and customers through technical evaluations, architecture design, and implementation considerations to ensure successful adoption and expansion of Temporal’s production usage. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to support both new client acquisition and existing account growth, managing key technical relationships and strategically positioning Temporal against competing technologies and architectural patterns.
What You’ll Do
- Demonstrate exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and technical writing.
- Apply a deep understanding of distributed system technologies, design principles, and best practices.
- Exhibit proficiency in building application prototypes and providing comprehensive guidance for design, development, build, and deployment using Temporal's supported languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
- Possess a strong grasp of operational considerations for production environments, including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and general operations.
- Guide customers through complex architectural decisions, covering application patterns and platform design.
- Partner with Account Executives and Platform Architects to develop and execute comprehensive account plans for new opportunities and expansion.
- Leverage experience with at least one major cloud provider and the application and infrastructure services commonly used in enterprise production environments.
- Act as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, assisting with opportunity scoping, identifying technical risks, and navigating complex evaluations.
- Expect travel to be 25-50%.
What You’ll Bring
- Residency within the Pacific time zone (United States), with a preference for the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle Area.

- Ability to provide clear guidance on architectural topics, including application patterns and platform architectures.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with commonly used application development and production services.
- Ability to serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, helping scope opportunities, identify technical risks, and navigate complex evaluations.

Compensation Range: $140,000 - $183,750
