What We Are Looking For

Accedo is seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Software Engineer, Back-End to join our Global Service Management team based in Brazil. This role is crucial for providing expert development and project implementation skills specifically for the Latin America region. Your primary responsibilities will involve:

• Playing a key role in bug fixes for production applications and verifying their resolution.
• Engaging in feature development, SDK updates, code enhancement, refactoring, and code reviews.
• Actively participating in customer discussions, requirements analysis, and providing testing support.

Skills and Experience

• Expert knowledge of platform-specific languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Excellent understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Expertise with at least one SCM system and its related concepts (e.g., Git, Subversion, Bitbucket).
• Strong experience integrating open-source or third-party APIs and Libraries.
• In-depth understanding of development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, along with testing practices and tools, knowing when to apply each method for optimal outcomes.
• Possess System or Solution architect experience for non-trivial projects, including:
  • Knowledge of common pitfalls and how to properly design an application (server components).
  • Good instincts for project planning and estimations.
• A passion and a “get the job done” attitude to solve diverse problems.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Fluency in additional languages would be a significant advantage.

JavaScript (Web/Back-End) Engineering Requirements

• Proficiency and experience in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.
• Excellent knowledge of server-side scripting skills (Node.js, Express).
• Experience designing and building RESTful API services.
• Experience using cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience in other tech stacks is also beneficial (Java, Ruby, PHP, etc.).
• Familiarity with build tools like Gulp, Grunt, Webpack, and experience building dynamic web applications with JavaScript frameworks such as React/Redux, Node.js, or AngularJS is a plus.

Qualifications and Additional Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related disciplines.
• At least 5 years of professional experience developing applications across multiple platforms.
• Experience in video and media-based development projects (DRM, OVPs, Advertising, Analytics).
• Strong experience and knowledge of Design and Architectural patterns, and knowing when to apply them.
• Interest and eagerness to explore new technology areas and immerse in business-relevant topics.
• Ability to mentor junior developers, technical support engineers, and team members.
• Exposure to Agile, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development is a plus.
