Senior Software Engineer: ClaimsPay Platform Modernization
One Inc seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive the transformation and modernization of our ClaimsPay platform, aligning with our long-range technology strategy and supporting globalization efforts. This senior role is crucial for evolving and contributing to One Inc’s AI-enabled software development methodology. Success requires excellent technical skills, strong leadership, keen analytical abilities, robust business insight, and extensive SaaS product development experience. This is a multi-functional position demanding team leadership, technical acumen, and effective internal stakeholder communication within a high-growth organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Engagement and Enterprise Collaboration
- Lead and participate in identifying platform capabilities requiring refactoring to resolve performance, scalability, and security issues.
- Conduct and participate in performance testing with internal and external stakeholders, including performing Static Code Analysis.
- Engage with One Inc’s Enterprise Architecture team to stay informed of the technology roadmap and serve as a contributor.
- Create and document solutions aligned with One Inc’s technology roadmap.
- Participate as a key Scrum team member: Reviewing, Decomposing, and Story Point Sizing User Stories.
- Collaborate closely with globally distributed Scrum team members.
- Lead design and code reviews for new product development initiatives.
- Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Collaborate with external vendor partners to develop new solutions or upgrade existing capabilities.
- Set the standard for Software Engineering excellence for peer groups.
Software Development
- Design and Development: Translate product requirements and User Acceptance criteria into technical designs and develop high-quality, scalable, and resilient code.
- Coding Standards: Adhere to secure coding standards and principles (e.g., SOLID and DRY), ensuring compliance with One Inc coding standards.
- Code Management: Manage source code using Git and lead code reviews.
- Perform extensive automated Unit Testing on all newly developed code.
- Contribute to creating a zero-defect environment by applying best-in-class engineering principles.
API Development
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to contribute to the formation of a microservice architecture, including transition states.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the microservice architecture.
- Develop performant APIs that integrate with external entities and scale effectively.
- Adopt a continuous improvement philosophy for API standards and frameworks.
- Ensure newly developed APIs are fully backward compatible and avoid introducing breaking changes.
- Contribute to implementing an API Test Automation Framework, including Unit Testing and Performance/Load Testing.
Artificial Intelligence Enablement
- Contribute to and evolve One Inc’s AI-enabled software development methodology.
- Leverage AI tools for code generation, refactoring, and documentation, ensuring alignment with secure coding standards and architectural principles.
- Stay informed about emerging AI capabilities that can enhance software development.
Operational Excellence & Incident Management
- Provide engineering assistance to the ClaimsPay Production Support team to remediate production issues.
- Implement fixes that ensure platform stability, reliability, and performance.
- Provide input into long-range product requirements, best practices, and operational guidelines to improve platform reliability and configurability.
Skills & Abilities:
Programming Languages
- Strong proficiency in C# and modern .NET (including .NET Core).
- Experience building REST APIs and web services.
- Familiarity with PHP is a plus.
- Strong foundation in multiple programming languages and platforms.
Artificial Intelligence
- Working knowledge of AI-enhanced development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and similar platforms to accelerate coding, improve code quality, and streamline debugging workflows.
Cloud Technologies
- Experience in Azure.
- Experience with Cloud Native Architecture, Containers, and Microservices.
- Experience in large-scale implementations of cloud-native solutions.
Frameworks & Patterns
- Proficient in TDD (Test Driven Development), Domain Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, and Self-Contained Services.
- Expertise in building Test Harnesses.
- Strong understanding of Design Patterns and Clean, Secure Coding Standards.
- Adherence to coding principles like SOLID and DRY.
- Strong Git experience.
- GitLab experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Git workflows and branching strategies (GitFlow, feature branches, pull requests).
- Experience leveraging Application Performance Management (APM) to identify issues in code reliability and performance. Elastic APM experience is a plus.
- Experience designing, building, and executing Performance/Load Testing suites.
CRM Frameworks
- Familiarity with PHP SugarCRM Framework is a Plus.
Industry-Specific Experience
- Experience working as a software engineer in the insure-tech or fin-tech space.
- Experience in credit card transaction processing.
- Demonstrated success in designing solutions for high volume, scalability, and availability in these domains.
Agile Experience
- Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum).
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) (desirable).
Communication & Collaboration Skills
- Effective Communication: Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Leadership and Influence
Software Development Experience:
- 7 + years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of API development experience.
Team Leadership & Mentoring:

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Teamwork:

- Ability to create and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
