About This Senior Engineer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join one of our dynamic, stream-aligned engineering teams. At Eye, our engineering organization is structured around mission-driven streams, each focused on a clear outcome rather than a specific product area or codebase section. You will be an integral part of a small, full-stack team of 2-3 engineers, contributing directly to your stream's objectives by working across all necessary systems and layers. This position offers significant ownership and impact, moving beyond a traditional ticket-based workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead features end-to-end as a Feature Lead, encompassing problem scoping, team coordination, daily technical decision-making, and successful production deployment.
- Deliver high-quality features independently and collaboratively, leveraging full-stack expertise across diverse stream requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to design and develop features that provide tangible real-world value.
- Actively contribute to technical decision-making within your stream, proactively identifying and communicating tradeoffs and risks.
- Foster a psychologically safe and positive working environment within your team and across the company.
This role offers flexibility with remote work options in the Netherlands or Berlin. A commitment to travel to the office (The Hague or Berlin) twice per week is required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of development experience, including substantial full-stack exposure. You should be proficient in both backend and frontend layers and capable of independently acquiring new technologies.
- Proven experience with strongly typed languages such as Typescript, Java, dotnet, or PHP. While our primary stack includes Go and React, we are confident that a seasoned engineer with strong typed language experience can quickly adapt.
- Comfortable integrating AI coding tools into your daily development workflow and possess a keen interest in leveraging AI to enhance development processes.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is essential.
