AI in Action: Your Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to build software within an AI-first development environment.
At Bold, we expect AI to generate the majority of our code, with developers guiding, validating, and shaping the output. This role is not about occasional AI tool usage; it is about pushing AI capabilities to their limits.
You will work on a complex ecommerce application where integrating AI into the development process presents challenging opportunities for thoughtful experimentation. Success requires curiosity, persistence, and genuine excitement for solving hard technical problems. We are looking for someone who enjoys discovering what is possible with AI when the answer is not obvious, and who is comfortable experimenting until a solution is found.
You will also champion AI-driven development by sharing ideas, experimenting with new tools, and uncovering new possibilities.
If you already use AI heavily in your daily development workflow and frequently experiment with it outside of work, you will thrive in this environment.
Your Mission
- Utilize AI tools to generate the majority of application code, validating and refining outputs to ensure correctness, security, and architectural alignment.
- Push the boundaries of AI within complex legacy systems, solving difficult integration and workflow challenges.
- Experiment with new AI tools, prompting strategies, and development workflows to continuously improve software construction.
- Identify opportunities where AI can accelerate development, testing, and debugging processes.
- Address ambiguous or technically challenging problems with persistence and curiosity.
- Share insights with the team and champion an AI-first development mindset.
- Contribute to system architecture, ensuring both AI-generated and human-written code remain scalable and maintainable.
Who Thrives Here
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with PHP (Laravel) and Go, alongside modern frontend technologies.
- Hands-on experience building and integrating Shopify apps and APIs.
- Extensive use of AI in your development workflow, not occasionally, but as a core part of how you build software.
- Enjoy experimenting with AI tools, prompting techniques, and automation workflows.
- Comfortable tackling complex technical challenges where AI solutions are not immediately apparent.
- Possess curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to solve problems others may avoid.
