AI in Action: Your Role as a Senior Software Developer
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our AI-first development environment. At Bold, we expect AI to generate the majority of our code, with developers guiding, validating, and refining the output. This role is not about occasional AI tool usage; it's about pushing the boundaries of AI capabilities.
You will work on a complex ecommerce application where integrating AI into the development process presents unique challenges, requiring thoughtful experimentation. Success in this role demands curiosity, persistence, and genuine excitement for solving difficult technical problems. We are looking for someone who enjoys exploring the possibilities of AI when solutions are not immediately obvious, and who is comfortable experimenting until a working solution is found.
You will also champion AI-driven development by sharing innovative ideas, experimenting with new tools, and uncovering novel possibilities within our team.

Your Mission
- Utilize AI tools to generate the majority of application code, meticulously validating and refining outputs to ensure correctness, security, and architectural alignment.
- Push the limits of AI capabilities within a complex legacy system, resolving challenging integration and workflow issues.
- Experiment with new AI tools, prompting strategies, and development workflows to continuously enhance our software development processes.
- Identify and leverage opportunities where AI can accelerate development, testing, and debugging efforts.
- Address ambiguous or technically challenging problems with persistence and intellectual curiosity.
- Share valuable insights with the team and actively champion an AI-first development mindset.
- Contribute to system architecture, ensuring that both AI-generated and human-written code remain scalable and maintainable.

- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise with PHP (Laravel) and Go, alongside modern frontend technologies.
- Hands-on experience building and integrating Shopify apps and APIs.
- Extensive, core-part-of-workflow use of AI in your daily development.
- Enjoyment in experimenting with AI tools, prompting techniques, and automation workflows.
- Comfort in tackling complex technical challenges where AI solutions are not immediately perfect.
- A demonstrated blend of curiosity, persistence, and a proactive willingness to solve problems others might avoid.
