The Role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Developer who leads with frontend — someone proficient in React and React Native, but equally comfortable jumping into a Laravel API when needed. The majority of your work (~70%) will be on the frontend, with the rest spent in the backend contributing to API development and system design. The goal for any team member is to jump in where needed. You'll work alongside a distributed engineering team on feature delivery. This is a high-ownership role where you'll help shape how things are built.
What You'll Work On
- Owning frontend feature delivery across our React web app and React Native mobile app
- Building intuitive, performant UIs for a booking and reservation product used in production
- Contributing to our Laravel API — building endpoints and reviewing backend changes when needed
- Participating in technical planning and architecture discussions
- Writing clean, testable, well-documented code that your teammates can reason about
- Collaborating asynchronously with a distributed team across time zones
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- 3+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on frontend development
- Strong proficiency in React — hooks, state management, component architecture, performance
- Real-world experience with React Native shipping iOS and/or Android apps
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and how to build great UI on top of them
- Working knowledge of Laravel or a comparable backend framework — you're not expected to be a backend specialist, but you should be able to own API work when needed
- Strong communication skills and comfort in an async, remote environment
Nice to have:
- Eye for UI/UX detail and a track record of shipping polished interfaces
- Familiarity with booking, scheduling, or marketplace products
- Experience in a small engineering team or startup environment
- Located in or around Toronto (not required, but great for occasional in-person collaboration)
