Join Twilio’s Communications team as the next Presales Architect. This critical role focuses on our strategic segment, enabling customers to build the future of communications. Twilio Presales Architects are responsible for achieving the Technical Win and ensuring the best Product Fit for our customers.

You will lead the technical pre-sales relationship, driving technical discovery, proposing robust technical architectures, demonstrating products, anticipating concerns, and offering creative solutions. You must be comfortable engaging senior leadership (CEO level) or detailing API flows on a whiteboard with customer software engineers.

As a recognized pre-sales expert and technical influencer, you will independently manage complex opportunities, own the strategic vision for your organization across multiple years, and mentor peers. You are the go-to technical resource for the sales team, actively preventing single points of failure while bringing crucial customer insights to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Sales & Strategy

  • Partner with Account Executives to execute pre-sales activities, including opportunity qualification, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept (PoC), RFP responses, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions.
  • Lead the technical and product sale, recommending best-practice solutions and guiding customers on effective use of Twilio’s APIs to achieve success.
  • Establish trust with customer senior leadership by leading technical discovery, designing, demonstrating, and presenting innovative solutions that address business challenges.
  • Build and present highly interactive, complex, and engaging product demonstrations showcasing Twilio’s Communications Products capabilities, fostering strong relationships with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify team or organizational needs, documenting criticality and proposing strategies for solution implementation.
  • Contribute to the broader Twilio Solutions Engineering community through knowledge sharing, constructing demonstration materials, and creating reusable presentations.
  • Mentor less experienced Presales Engineers and frequently act as a facilitator or team leader.
  • Regularly present at Twilio-sponsored, industry, and internal events.

Required Skills & Experience: Presales Architect Qualifications

  • 12+ years of pre-sales experience selling complex, technical products, OR 12+ years of professional experience supporting technical products coupled with customer-facing experience (delivery or consulting).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of gaining audience confidence and effectively communicating product ROI across various use cases.
  • Ability to deeply understand customer communications needs and guide them toward a technical solution.
  • Demonstrated exceptional technical proficiency and thought leadership, actively contributing to team strategy.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of communicating strategic vision and influencing internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Customer-focused problem solver, balancing innovative technical solutions with prioritizing customer best interests.
  • Previous software development experience or working knowledge in one or more of the following backend languages: Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP.
  • Experience in Web development (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Experience building with REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architecture.
  • Previous experience in Telecom, SIP, Contact Center, or Security technologies.
  • Experience with sales methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Languages: Fluent in Portuguese; professional-level English. Spanish is a plus.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing strategic accounts and evangelizing new use cases and technology in Finance, Retail, Healthcare, or High-tech verticals.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI, ElevenLabs) and cloud application architecture.
  • Previous experience in Telecommunications, SIP, WebRTC, or Contact Centre in a technical role.

Location, Travel, and Benefits
