DataCandy, a Paystone Company, is seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer (Level II) to join our Engineering team remotely in Canada. This full-time role focuses on driving customer-driven growth through advanced gift card and loyalty solutions.

Your Role: Technical Leadership and Advanced Architecture

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer who excels in technical leadership, collaboration, and innovation, dedicated to producing clean, scalable code. You will be responsible for architecting robust solutions, mentoring developers, and establishing high standards for engineering excellence.

Key Focus Areas

  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior developers, sharing best practices, and cultivating a learning environment.
  • Architecture: Design highly scalable, secure, and elegant software solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and QA to develop world-class features.
  • Excellence: Lead by example in code reviews, enforce high coding standards, and champion clean, maintainable code.
  • Innovation: Maintain curiosity, experiment with new technologies, and introduce fresh ideas to stay competitive.
  • Ownership: Take full accountability for projects from initial concept through successful deployment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong expertise in PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Proficiency with Symfony (or similar PHP frameworks).
  • Skilled in Doctrine (or similar ORM) and PHPUnit testing.
  • Passion for quality, scalable solutions, and object-oriented development.

Compensation & Benefits
