About the Role
As a Senior PHP Developer, you will be a central part of our digital development team. You will work with some of Denmark's most visited websites and be responsible for driving our WordPress platforms forward, both technically and architecturally.
You will collaborate closely with other developers and stakeholders, contributing to optimizing our entire stack, from backend flow to database performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Development and further development of WordPress solutions within a complex multisite environment.
- Creation of robust and maintainable PHP modules and custom plugins.
- Working with MySQL structure, optimization, and performance improvements.
- Implementation and customization of ACF (Advanced Custom Fields).
- Sparring with the team on best practices, architecture, and development methodologies.
- Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant education, such as a Computer Scientist, Web Developer, Web Integrator, or similar. The number of years of professional experience is not critical; the most important thing is that you are skilled in PHP and can stand by your technical decisions.
You are structured, quality-oriented, and thrive in a setup involving high traffic volumes and many dependencies. You contribute positively to the team through professional sparring, curiosity, and the desire to create valuable solutions collaboratively.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience as a PHP Developer.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress, including advanced theme and plugin development.
- Experience with WordPress Multisite.
- Proficiency in MySQL, including queries, optimization, and structure.
- Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) and customizing complex field groups.
- Familiarity with version control via Git and modern development workflows.
It is a significant plus if you also have knowledge of technologies such as Varnish Caching, Redis, React or NextJs, as well as container-based environments like Docker, but this is not a requirement.
