Senior PHP Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP/Laravel Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications, developing RESTful APIs, optimizing database performance, ensuring security best practices, and collaborating with frontend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize PHP applications using Laravel (5.4–11).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs with authentication (JWT, Sanctum, Passport) and authorization (RBAC).
• Build robust database solutions with MySQL/PostgreSQL, handling complex queries, transactions, and large datasets.
• Optimize application performance using caching strategies, Redis, queue workers, Horizon, and prevent N+1 queries.
• Implement secure coding practices, protecting against CSRF, XSS, SQL injection, and ensuring proper encryption and authentication flows.
• Integrate third-party services including payment gateways, email/SMS providers, external APIs, and WebSockets.
• Collaborate with frontend teams on React/Next.js integration, CORS, and authentication workflows.
• Maintain code quality through version control, logging, monitoring, debugging, and production issue resolution.
• Apply software architecture & design patterns (SOLID principles, Service/Repository pattern, modular & multi-tenant systems).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Expert in PHP (5–8.x) and Laravel (5.4–11).
• Advanced knowledge of Laravel architecture, Eloquent ORM, Query Builder, migrations, seeders, jobs, queues, events, middleware, policies, service container, and Artisan.
• Strong RESTful API development, authentication/authorization, API versioning, pagination, filtering, webhooks, and file handling.
• Solid experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, query optimization, indexing, and managing large datasets.
• Performance optimization using Redis, caching, queue workers, Horizon, and scalable application best practices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modular systems.
• Expertise in secure coding and OWASP best practices.
• Experience integrating third-party services and handling production issues.
• Familiarity with frontend collaboration (React/Next.js, Blade templates, CORS).
• Minimum 5-7 years of professional PHP/Laravel development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Philippine citizenship required for this position.

Nice to Have:

• Unit and feature testing with PHPUnit/Pest, TDD, and code review practices.
• DevOps and deployment experience: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Linux servers, Nginx/Apache, AWS/GCP/DigitalOcean, and secrets management.
