Workana is seeking a Senior PHP Backend Developer to join the team of a leading client in the electronic security and monitoring sector. About the Project:
You will be working on a robust, high-impact production system utilized by electronic security monitoring centers. The core focus involves integrating solutions for automation, real-time communication, and integration with external hardware and systems, always prioritizing high performance and scalability.
This role offers the chance to contribute directly to the security and peace of mind of organizations and individuals by developing cutting-edge technological solutions for the monitoring sector.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Laravel 11.
- Evolve and maintain existing legacy PHP systems utilizing the DAO pattern.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Implement seamless integrations with external APIs and systems.
- Manage queues and asynchronous jobs effectively.
- Document APIs thoroughly using Swagger / OpenAPI.
- Write clean code adhering strictly to PSR standards.
- Actively participate in code reviews and architectural improvements.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with PHP (must include modern versions).
- Solid expertise in the Laravel framework (version 10 or higher).
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL, particularly in query optimization.
- Demonstrated experience with RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of JWT authentication (using firebase/php-jwt).
- Ability to work with legacy PHP code while applying best practices for refactoring and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience utilizing MongoDB (especially for logging purposes).
- Knowledge of AWS services (S3, EC2).
- Familiarity with Docker for container orchestration.
- Experience with WebSockets for real-time communication.
- Familiarity with AI technologies (e.g., Windsurf AI or Cursor) applied to development.
- Prior knowledge of the electronic security sector is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with electronic security technologies and hardware integrations (e.g., alarms).
- Knowledge of video streaming protocols (RTSP, HLS).
Contractual Conditions:
- Work Location: 100% Remote.
- Dedication: Full-time (40 hours weekly), focused on delivery.
- Compensation: R$ 9,500 to R$ 12,500 monthly.
- Contract Type: PJ (Contractor/Legal Entity) via Workana.
- Duration: Continuous project with an initial 12-month contract, subject to renewal based on performance.
