Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on leader for our Professional Services organization to manage the implementation of Okta services. This role requires experience in managing technical teams, resource forecasting, change management, and operational excellence. You will have a strong consulting background, the ability to handle multiple work streams, and be comfortable with client issue resolution. This is a player/coach role with customer-facing delivery responsibilities.
You will collaborate with leaders across Global Professional Services to plan and deploy solutions, ensuring customer success. You will be responsible for professional services billings/revenue, customer satisfaction, resource management, and utilization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director, Technical Consulting with oversight of professional services billings/revenue, customer satisfaction, resources, and utilization.
- Hire, grow, and retain PS Technical Consulting team members focused on customer success.
- Provide direct management, mentoring, and support to Technical Consultants for their technical, professional, and career growth.
- Improve our repeatable implementation methodology for rapid customer adoption of Okta services.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement within the TC practice and across Okta Professional Services and our subcontractor ecosystem.
- Represent Okta Professional Services across multiple engagements and workstreams.
- Ensure customer success throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Upskill team members to ensure expertise in delivering Okta to customers.
- Perform customer-facing delivery (30%) as a player/coach.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience leading teams (supervisory responsibilities).
- 5+ years of experience as an implementation consultant delivering solutions to external customers.
- 5+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM).
- Authority in technologies and protocols supporting identity federation and access control models (e.g., SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
- Familiarity with IAM solution providers is strongly desired.
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise web technologies and security.
- Ability to work independently and multi-functionally.
- General knowledge of modern cloud architectures and complex enterprise on-premises IT landscapes.
- Knowledge of typical enterprise identity lifecycle management processes and standards.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple customer engagements.
- Willingness and ability to be a hands-on contributor.
- Experience in Process Improvement, Decision-making, Managing Processes, Planning, Analyzing Information, and Developing Standards.
- Software development experience preferred (Java, .Net, PHP, REST/JSON, etc.).
- Expertise in JavaScript and a major JavaScript MVC framework desirable (Angular, Node, React, etc.).
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Communication:
- Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work with CxOs and high-level customer executives.
- Ability to lead integration sessions.
- Use active listening skills to understand customer business goals.
- Communicate difficult/sensitive information thoughtfully.
- Superb communication skills, including issue tracking, triaging, and crisis management.

- Facilitate effective team interaction.
- Provide technical leadership on delivery methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline required.
- Okta Certified Consultant and Okta Certified Developer are a plus.
- CISSP certification is a plus.

OTE Range (San Francisco Bay Area): $227,000—$341,000 USD
OTE Range (California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Washington): $203,000—$305,000 USD
