We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with extensive Laravel expertise to collaborate directly with our lead engineer. This role focuses on building, extending, and maintaining our Laravel-based application (YVA) and our EspoCRM system.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across diverse systems, implementing backend services, optimizing data flows, and developing CRM-based automation logic independently. While not the primary architect, you must possess a strong understanding of architectural decisions and be capable of high-level execution.
Core Responsibilities
Laravel Backend Development (Primary Focus)
- Build and maintain backend services within our Laravel application.
- Optimize Eloquent relationships and database schema.
- Implement queues, jobs, and background processes.
- Develop and maintain internal and external APIs.
- Work closely with the lead engineer on performance and architectural improvements.
CRM System Implementation (EspoCRM)
- Create and modify entities and relationships.
- Implement calculated fields and formula logic.
- Build custom scripts and workflow rules.
- Maintain data integrity between CRM and backend systems.
- Ensure consistency between CRM state and Laravel application state.
Cross-System Coordination
- Implement integrations between Laravel and EspoCRM.
- Review data synchronization logic.
- Prevent duplication and aggregation issues.
- Assist in defining where logic should reside (CRM vs. backend vs. automation layer).
Required Experience
- 5+ years of backend development experience.
- Advanced proficiency in PHP 8.x and Laravel.
- Strong understanding of:
- Eloquent ORM
- Database indexing
- Relationship modeling
- Performance optimization
- Experience working with at least one CRM system in a development capacity.
- Comfortable implementing calculated fields, scripts, and workflow logic.
- Experience with API integrations and webhook-based systems.
Ideal (But Not Required)
- Experience with EspoCRM specifically.
- Experience collaborating with automation or AI workflow engineers.
- Exposure to queue systems and background job processing.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted workflow integrations.
